About JCI
There are several ways in which you can get involved with the Arvada Jaycees, ranging from becoming a member to charitable donations.
Locally Rooted, Globally Connected
Junior Chamber International (JCI), also known as the Jaycees, is a global nonprofit leadership organization dedicated to developing young people who want to make a positive impact in their communities and the world. Founded in 1915 in St. Louis, Missouri by Henry Giessenbier Jr., JCI has grown into an international network of young active citizens with members in more than 100 countries and thousands of local chapters worldwide.
JCI provides opportunities for individuals ages 18–40 to develop leadership skills, expand their professional networks, and create meaningful change through community projects and collaboration. Members learn by doing—planning initiatives, leading teams, organizing events, and working together to address real challenges in their communities.
The organization is guided by a simple but powerful mission: to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive change. Through leadership training, civic engagement, entrepreneurship, and international cooperation, JCI helps members build the confidence, experience, and connections needed to become effective leaders.
While JCI operates on a global scale, its impact begins locally. Members work together within their communities to launch projects that improve quality of life, promote economic development, and strengthen civic engagement. By connecting local action with a worldwide network of young leaders, JCI creates opportunities for individuals to grow personally and professionally while contributing to a better future.
For more than a century, JCI has served as a platform where motivated individuals can develop leadership skills, build lifelong friendships, and turn ideas into meaningful action.

What Is A Jaycee
A Jaycee is a member of Junior Chamber International (JCI) which is a global network of young professionals and community leaders who are committed to creating positive change. Jaycees are typically between the ages of 18 and 40 and come from a wide range of backgrounds, industries, and experiences, but they share a common goal: improving themselves while making a meaningful impact in their communities.
Being a Jaycee means learning leadership through action. Members organize community service projects, develop professional skills, support local initiatives, and collaborate with other motivated individuals who want to make a difference. Through these activities, Jaycees gain hands-on experience in leadership, project management, teamwork, and civic engagement.
At the local level, Jaycees work together to strengthen their communities. At the same time, membership connects individuals to the broader international network of Junior Chamber International, offering opportunities for training, collaboration, and friendships that extend far beyond their hometown.
For many members, becoming a Jaycee is more than joining an organization—it’s joining a community of people who believe that young leaders can shape a better future.
